FlexiBath Infant Bath Tub by Real Cool World – Pink

  • Folds up and stores anywhere
  • No more messy cleanups after bath time
  • Comes in 3 great colors
  • Flexible, don’t worry about hard surfaces

FlexiBath PINK Flexi Travel Folding Baby Bath Tub. The Foldable Children’s Bathtub. For some time we had felt that it must surely be possible to produce a baby bath which is foldable so that it doesn’t take up space in the bathroom. After all, a baby bath is in use for maybe half an hour a day, but it occupies valuable space 24 hours a day. Flexibath folds easily together and is stored flat against the wall, in a cupboards, under a bed, etc. Non-slip bottom and colour combinations. For comfort and safety the bottom of the bath has a non-slip surface. Flexibath is made from Polypropylene (PP) and Thermoplastic Elastomeric (TPE). Both types of raw materials are free from PVC, phthalates, heavy metals and other harmful or hazardous materials. Flexibath is a safe, clean and environmentally responsible product from A Real Cool World. Made from: PP and TPE. Ages: Infant, 26.2″ x 15.3″ x 9.4″

From what I understand, Flexibath has been quite popular in Europe and just arrived in the US in April this year – and just in time for our family, as we were about to transition our almost 2 1/2 yr old out of the infant tub, but disliked having to deal with doing a bath in our full-sized tub. I was hoping to get an orange one, but looks like the only colors being offered right now are the blue and white ones. It is one of those products where you go, why didn’t anyone think of this before?! We would have given it 5-stars if it weren’t for the cons stated below. But all in all, WE LOVE THE FLEXIBATH!!

    PROS:
    - Great for travel! It fits into our large suitcase, no problem. No more icky hotel bathtubs.
    - Great for our small space bathroom. It folds nicely and securely.
    - Bold color is fun!
    - Our daughter enjoys bathtime more because bathing in the Flexibath feels like she’s in a “pool.” It has more depth than a regular infant tub.
    - The plastic that it’s made out of seems softer and lighter than that of a normal infant tub.
    - Prob because it’s a relatively new product, I could only find one other retailer online that sells this tub, and Amazon offered it at about the same price, but with free shipping, so you save about $10 if you purchase thru Amazon.
    - Great for travel!! Did I already mention this? We travel a lot as a family and love this tub!!

    CONS:
    - It’s a bit difficult putting the drain plug in. No problem taking out, but to put back in, you have to push it in hard to make sure the drain is completely sealed.
    - When the tub us filled, it’s rather flushed to the surface it’s sitting on, so when you pull the plug to drain it, it doesn’t drain as effectively. We solve this problem by having our daughter scoot to one corner and lifting another corner of the tub slightly for the tub to drain faster.
    - Cumbersome to use for newborns, as it doesn’t include a backrest – you’d have to use one arm to support the baby while you bathe them. (We saved the backrest from our old infant tub in the event of Baby #2 :-) )
    - Pricey, but the convenience and great design is so worth it! It says it fits up to 4 yrs, so maybe there is some water cost-savings over time by not having to fill up a full tub…?

    OTHER ISSUES:
    - It doesn’t seem to be much wider than a normal infant tub, but the depth and simple basin design more than makes up for that.
    - It says you can fit two toddlers in it at the same time, but it doesn’t look like that would be comfortable. As it is now, our daughter fits just right with a little room to play – I can’t imagine she’d still fit in it when she’s 4 yrs old. (And she’s only in the 50th percentile, height- and weight-wise)

This review is from: FlexiBath Infant Bath Tub by Real Cool World – Pink (Baby Product)

My baby got too big for the infant tub at around 5 months, but she couldn’t sit strongly yet without tipping over in the big tub. So I’ve been giving her baths in the kitchen sink which is kind of cool as it is on a good height for my back. But obviously it’s not ideal and now around 10 months she’s too big for the kitchen sink too.

I’ve been looking around at inflatable baths, plastic baths, bath rings, bath chairs and even considered buying a storage container to use as a bath tub! She would either tip over taking the chair with her or the bath ring’s suction cups wouldn’t work etc.

A friend recommended this bath to me and I am so thankful. They use it for their 1.5 year old son and my 10 months old daughter fits in it with plenty of room to spare and she’s 30″ tall. It’s kind of narrow, but that’s good since it gives baby the option to hold on to the side. Also, baby doesn’t have to face the scary wide open waters of the big tub.

She just loved this bath and cried when I had to take her out. She was splashing water everywhere and enjoying her toys – for the first time. It folds up so neat and small it can be stowed out of the way anywhere.

I wouldn’t recommend it for newborns or infants that cannot sit independantly yet, but once baby can sit without toppling over: this is the bath for you! We love it!

The flexibath is bigger than a regular infant tub-so it’s perfect for an intermediate before the big tub. It tucks easily behind the bathroom door and travels well. As with any tub, it’s important to supervise your child while in the bath. Since the tub was designed to flex, it’s not surprising the side wobbles a bit when my 10 month old leans on the side of the tub. Overall we’re happy with the flexitub.
