    I liked this, but…, March 26, 2009

I like this wipes pod except that it is really flimsy material and it’s pretty small, my four month old is already too long for it. I like to use it as an extra changing pad around the house or at the grandparent’s but it is too small and too flimsy to use anywhere else. Often the restaurants or store bathrooms don’t have a changing station and I end up changing a diaper on the cold cement floor. In that case, this changing pad is too small for a baby to lie completely on it; their head ends up lying on the floor. It has no padding and the material is very thin so it is uncomfortable for the baby to be changed on a hard surface.

My son is 19 months old now and I haven’t used a diaper bag for him for a long time now; I just got tired of carrying a diaper bag with my purse. This is perfect to hold a couple of diapers, some wipes, and a small changing pad. The changing pad isn’t big, granted, but I don’t want a big one taking up all that space in my purse. If you want a big, padded changing pad then carry a whole diaper bag! This is just fine to put something under his bum while I’m changing him whether it’s on the floor, a changing table, or in the back of the car. The pod itself does have a small pocket on the back as well, which I find perfect for putting a few disposable bibs in for those times when we’re out to eat and I haven’t put a regular bib in my purse. It works very well to keep everything together. I’m also planning on using it as a diaper bag within a diaper bag when I have my second child in a few weeks. The baby’s stuff will be in the big bag, and my older son’s stuff will be in this bag so that I can separate them easily when they are in different nurseries. Overall, it’s a great product and suits my needs. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because it seems a little longer than it needs to be, but this may come in handy as his diapers get longer. :)

Looks great, not as functional as it could be, February 21, 2011

When I got pregnant I wanted to skip the traditional diaper bag in favor of something small I could toss into any bag so my husband could carry it too. I was immediately attracted to this design. It looks great, however it is flimsy and the pad is a little too small like other reviews have mentioned. I understand that it is not meant to be a replacement for an entire diaper bag, but it would have been nice if the main compartment were an inch deeper to accomodate a small plastic wipes case as well, which should have been included too for the price. An oversight in my opinion. Overall, the JJ Cole worked out OK while my daughter was still a newborn, but now at 6 months old this pack is just too small. I also purchased the skip hop travel case which my husband really likes. We have used it far more often than the JJ Cole. Skip Hop Pronto Changer Diaper Bag, Black.
