Snappi Cloth Diaper Fastener – Pack of 1 (White)

  • It is an easy to use alternative to diaper pins.
  • The Snappi stays in place to ensure a comfortable secure fit.
  • It is easy-to-care-for and can be sterilized in hot water
  • It is durable and can last as long as six months.
  • It is tried and trusted and cannot hurt your baby in any way.

This is for one (1) snappi fastener.

The Snappi® is a safer, more reliable, EASY to use fastener for cloth diapers that replaces the nasty diaper pins. The stretchable non-toxic Snappi® hooks into the diaper material to make a strong closure. They work best with diapers that have a loose enough weave for the Snappi® to hook into. (Snappi® terry cloth diapers, cotton pre-folds, and others) Note they do not work well with flannel or other tightly woven diapers.

How to use your Snappi®:

To improve elasticity, stretch your Snappi® fastener a few times before use.

Step 1: Hook left

Step 2: Stretch across and hook right

Step 3: Stretch down and hook center

The Snappi® should go from a “T” shape to a “Y” shape when stretched properly.

Warning: Always use a cover over a Snappi fastener. Keep out of children’s reach when not in use. Do not use a Snappi fastener on toddlers that have the ability to undo or take off their cover/diaper/clothes. Do not use your Snappi for longer than

Gotta love em!, December 8, 2007

I love Snappis for securing our prefolds. They stay in place the same way the old Ace bandages did with those metal clasps, except Snappis are plastic teeth (not too sharp). I keep a couple on hand since they tend to get misplaced. They have held up without breakage (so far) for about five months (daytime only). I love how they keep the prefold tight and in place under the diaper cover or vinyl pants. I have read recommendations against tucking the prefold under the diaper cover flap since it can cause wicking of moisture with some brands, so then you either need pins/snappis or hope for the best. I have heard too many awful stories about diaper pins so I am so thankful for an alternative. An ingenious one, at that.

Snappis are a great invention. They keep prefolds in place to keep the mess inside the diaper…no leaking! I usually can use one snappi for 4 months, as long as I stretch it out good before use (as directions recommend).
When I began cloth diapering I would just fold the diaper inside the cover, but as babies grow and begin to move around there comes a need to secure the diaper. Safety pins are difficult and sharp objects near baby’s belly aren’t a good option. The snappi is inexpensive, fairly durable, and extremely easy to use. Buy one and you’ll never go back!
PS: If you are thinking of cloth diapering but haven’t started yet, I highly recommend it. It’s much less expensive than disposables and easier than it sounds.

Great alternative to pins, but not very durable, September 26, 2007

Snappi fasteners work quite well. We use them with prefolds, contours, and wool wrap covers. They’re so much easier than pins. We pull them pretty tight, so they tend to break fairly quickly (<3 months). Even so, they’re so cheap that it’s not a problem to replace them often.
